Our New Policy For Your Passwords

We love offering you a truly personal service – we like to think we make as many friends as we do clients – and it’s our human touch that helps demystify the strange world of IT and lets you focus on your day-to-day work.

That said, we also need to make sure we’re doing things properly which sometimes means introducing a little formality, especially where security is concerned.

Our updated procedure for password change requests, means if you want any password on your account changed, the request will need to be made by email – in most cases, we cannot action requests that are made by telephone only.

Also, by default, only certain people within your company will be authorised to request password resets – we will maintain an agreed list of authorised people with you.

To add a further level of protection, we:-

  1. a) Won’t reply directly to the email request, but will send a new email to you to confirm the reset
  2. b) Won’t reset your password to a specific one you request, but instead will randomly generate a new password for you

Both of these conditions are in place to provide additional protection against phishing attacks from spoofed email addresses – we are constantly aware that we are a clear and obvious target to hackers, and this is an important step to protect both ourselves and you.
